Corn on the Cob
Sweet corn on the cob boiled in salted water and served with butter to roll it in. A simple side for four.

Pour 4 litres of water into the stockpot.

Add the salt.
Salt · 2 tsp
Bring to a rolling boil over a high heat.

Pull the husks and silk off the corn cobs, then lower them in with the tongs.


Boil for 8 minutes, until the kernels are tender and bright yellow.

Lift the corn onto the serving plate with the tongs.


Put the butter beside the corn and serve straight away, rolling each cob in the butter.
