Tinned tomato sauce simmered with onion, garlic, oregano and fresh basil.
What you’ll doYou will soften finely chopped onion in olive oil, then build the sauce by adding garlic, tinned tomatoes, and oregano before a gentle uncovered simmer. The main waiting points are the onion softening to translucency and the sauce reducing by roughly a third. Salt and fresh basil go in only at the end, so the seasoning and brightness stay clean.
